The University of Engineering and Management prioritizes the consolidation of the career of its students by instilling in them the zeal to enrich their knowledge base. The University stresses the multi-dimensional development of the students and equips them with the competency to take various competitive examinations. This responsibility is ably shouldered by the General Studies Department which induces the knowledge needed to ensure career stability amongst the students.
The University of Engineering and Management Kolkata, stands apart from many other Private Universities and proves its vision in transforming the idea of student development. The Honourable Chancellor of our University, Prof. Dr.Satyajit Chakrabarti has shown a new vision in instilling in the students the idea to explore numerous career opportunities. His expertise and versatile experience in the Government sector enabled him to initiate this path-breaking initiative where the students across all streams are inspired to take various competitive examinations like UPSC, WBCS, SSC, Bank Service etc. This ambitious and avant-garde dream of our Chancellor has taken a new shape through the efforts of the General Studies Department of the University of Engineering and Management. Here, the necessary training to prepare for such competitive examinations is provided by the General Studies (G.S) Department.
Our university shoulders the responsibility of conferring new definition to the field of academics to motivate our students to excel in diverse fields. Apart from providing the regular courses offered by AICTE, we have also taken the initiative to train the students for all Aptitude based examinations and Government examinations. In this context, the pivotal role is being played by the General Studies department of our university and I would like to congratulate all members of this department for their tireless efforts in not only inspiring the students but also imparting quality education for ensuring the betterment of our students
